My dog is only about 16 months, and has been in real rough shape for a day. he has thrown up orange one time on thursday morning around 9:00. after he was fine, happy and his normal playful self all the way untill around midnight, he starts throwing up again, it has been all different types, from yellow foam to real thin from getting him to drink water, to orange to possibly blood. We put him outside and when i went to let him back inside, i noticed blood. I do not know which end its coming from. please help

Answer from Our Team

A young dog vomiting repeatedly and passing or vomiting blood needs a vet urgently, ideally today. Possible causes include eating something that has irritated or blocked the gut, poisoning, parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated, and severe gastroenteritis.

Hold off on food and take him to a vet or emergency clinic now. Don't wait to see whether it continues, especially if he can't keep water down or seems lethargic.

See blood in dog stool for warning signs.

This is general information, not a diagnosis. Please follow your own vet's advice.
