Very Red Skin, Hair Loss and Possible Fungus in Summer
by Edward

Red skin with hair loss in summer is often caused by allergies, which flare in warm months, sometimes with a yeast or bacterial infection on top. Other possibilities include mange mites, ringworm and sunburn on thin-coated skin.
A vet can check skin scrapings and a tape sample under the microscope to see whether yeast, bacteria or mites are involved, which decides the treatment.
