Three-Legged Dog Limping on Her Only Front Leg
A swollen, painful front paw is a bigger problem for a three-legged dog than for most dogs, because she has no other front leg to share the load. Please have her vet examine it within a day or two, or the same day if she stops putting weight on it, to rule out a broken toe, a torn nail, something stuck in the paw or a wrist injury, as these can look like a simple sprain.
Rest, short leash walks and cold packs wrapped in a towel are sensible while you wait. Please check with your vet before giving any over-the-counter supplement or anti-inflammatory product, and never combine it with prescription pain medicine unless your vet says so. Non-slip rugs at home and a support harness can help her move safely, and helping her lose weight gradually will protect her remaining legs for the long term.
