Soft Stools and Anal Glands That Don't Empty

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how to harden her Bowel movements, so that she will be able to drain anal glands normally?i
Firmer stools help the glands empty naturally. Ask your vet to look for causes of soft stool, such as parasites, food intolerance or diet changes, and avoid rich treats and table scraps. Fiber such as plain canned pumpkin or psyllium, at an amount your vet suggests, is low risk and may help, though it isn't proven to prevent gland problems. Some dogs do better on a high-fiber or hydrolyzed diet.
If she still needs emptying every other week, ask whether the sacs are inflamed and might benefit from flushing and medication.
