Scaly, Flaky Skin in a Dog Being Treated for Cushing's
by Sylvia

Skin problems such as scaling, scabs and infections are common with Cushing's, because excess cortisol thins the skin and lowers its defenses. They often improve over a few months as treatment brings cortisol under control.
Ask your vet to check the scabs for infection and for mites such as Demodex, which are more common in dogs with Cushing's, which is common and may need its own treatment, and whether medicated shampoos would help in the meantime.
