Older Dog Vomiting, Lethargic and Biting When Touched

But on sunday, even though we were eating steak, he did not come to the table. He just laid far away from us as possible. That's when I noticed that something was wrong.
We feed him some freshly made ground beef and dry food. About 1 hour later he was vomiting all around the house - about 6 times.
The next day his poop was dark green. So we thought that it was the arthritis medication and we stopped it immediately. We have been watching him for the last 3 days. He is starting to eat again - but is moving very slowly. Yesterday he snapped and bit when someone accidentally fell on him while he was sleeping. Maybe he has a tooth problem, maybe allergy to the medication, maybe it is salmonella from the ground beef he ate, maybe he has the flu. I don;t know. But it does not look good. Our mongrel is almost 10 years old now in human years. I'm afraid of taking him to the doctor again and they will put him to sleep instead of treating him. It seems that it is what vets do when they don;t know what is going on. I will proceed to hydrate him with pedialyte but i think at this point he needs Intravenous for hydration..
A dog who vomits several times, becomes lethargic and snaps when touched may be in pain, for example from pancreatitis, a stomach or intestinal problem, a reaction to medication, or another illness. Dark green stool can come from bile moving through quickly. These signs need a vet visit today, especially in an older dog who is still not himself after several days. Also mention if his stool turns black or tarry, since some arthritis medicines can cause stomach bleeding.
It's understandable to feel worried, but euthanasia is a decision only you can make, and a vet's first aim is to find out what's wrong and help him. Ask for an examination, blood tests and pain relief, and discuss costs and options openly. Pedialyte at home isn't a substitute for this; a dog who is vomiting may need fluids from the vet. Don't restart his arthritis medicine until your vet has seen him, and don't give human medicines. Keep children away from him while he's sore.
