Older Dog Limping With a Popping Feeling in the Leg
A popping you can feel in the knee of a limping dog can be a kneecap slipping in and out of place, a torn meniscus, or arthritis. In a 10-year-old dog, a cruciate ligament tear is also common and can cause similar signs.
Not every slipping kneecap needs surgery; low grades are often managed with rest, weight control and pain relief. Your vet will need to examine the knee to find the cause and grade it.
