Nasal Cancer: Getting a CT Scan and What It Costs
CT scans are usually done at specialty referral hospitals or veterinary schools, so ask your vet to refer you to one near you. Many offer CT for planning treatment of nasal tumors. Costs vary a lot by region and hospital, so call a couple of hospitals and ask for an estimate that includes anesthesia.
The CT shows how far the tumor extends, which matters because radiation therapy is the main treatment for most nasal tumors in dogs. Ask the referral team whether the CT can be timed with radiation planning to avoid paying for it twice.
