Answer from Our Team

When surgery isn't safe, the focus becomes comfort and preventing problems. Ask your vet about pain relief that's safe for her kidneys, padding or a soft wrap to protect it, and keeping it clean. If it ulcerates or bleeds, call your vet.

Some large masses can be removed under local anesthesia or a shorter anesthetic, depending on where they are, and some can be treated with radiation, though that also needs brief anesthetics. A referral clinic may be able to assess her.
