How Often Should a Cocker Spaniel's Anal Glands Be Emptied?

These are anal glands rather than adrenal glands. Only as often as needed: most dogs never need routine emptying, and frequent expression can irritate the sacs.

Diarrhea afterward is uncommon, so mention it to your vet; it could be a coincidence or a sign of an underlying gut problem that also causes gland issues.
