How much water should he consume in 24hrs or consume in one time?

Answer from Our Team

There's no set amount, and you shouldn't limit his water. Furosemide (Lasix) makes dogs urinate more, so they need to drink more to avoid dehydration. Keep fresh water available at all times.

Tell your vet if he suddenly drinks far more or much less than usual, stops eating, vomits or seems weak, since these can mean the dose needs adjusting or his kidneys need checking. Your vet will usually recheck kidney values and electrolytes on this medication.

See congestive heart failure in dogs for more on treatment.
