Hard, Yellow Poop After New Chew Treats
New chews are a very common cause of a sudden change in poop. Many hard chews are made from rawhide, bone or other dense material that can turn poop pale or yellowish and make it hard and dry. Since she's active, eating and drinking normally, it's reasonable to stop the new treats and watch her for a day or two.
Make sure she's drinking well. Call your vet if she strains without passing anything, vomits, stops eating, seems to have a sore belly, or the yellow color continues after the treats are stopped, because persistent yellow poop can sometimes point to a liver or gallbladder problem. Also call if you think she swallowed a large piece of chew, as pieces can cause a blockage.
