Dog Shaking and Foaming White Saliva at the Mouth
by regino ramos

We're sorry your dog is unwell. Shaking together with white, foamy saliva can have several causes, including nausea, a seizure, pain, overheating, or contact with a poison such as a toad, insecticide or rat bait. It can also follow a bout of heavy coughing and gagging.
Because some of these causes are emergencies, please take your dog to a vet as soon as possible, especially if the shaking doesn't stop, your dog collapses, has trouble breathing, or may have eaten or licked something toxic.
Tell the vet what your dog may have eaten, how long the shaking lasted and whether your dog lost awareness. If coughing is part of the picture, see our guide to kennel cough in dogs.
This is general information, not a diagnosis. Please follow your own vet's advice.
