Can Lymphoma in Dogs Be Treated Without Surgery?

Yes. Lymphoma is usually treated with chemotherapy, not surgery, because in most dogs it involves lymph nodes and other organs throughout the body. Radiation is sometimes used too, and prednisone alone may be offered as short-term comfort care, though it can make later chemotherapy less effective. Many dogs tolerate chemotherapy well and have good quality of life during treatment.
A veterinary oncologist can explain options, from full protocols to simpler ones, and expected survival for your dog's type of lymphoma.
