My dog has a cloudy eye like the first picture can I use ophthalemic gel ?

Answer from Our Team

A plain lubricating gel won't harm a healthy eye, but it won't treat the cause of cloudiness either. Please don't use medicated gels or drops without a diagnosis, because steroid products can make a corneal ulcer much worse.

If the cloudiness is new, in one eye, or the eye is red or painful, see a vet the same day. A gradual haze in both eyes of an older dog is often nuclear sclerosis, which needs no treatment.

See cloudy eyes in dogs for causes.

This is general information, not a diagnosis. Please follow your own vet's advice.
