Blood in the Anal Glands That Keeps Coming Back

Blood in the anal gland fluid usually means the sacs are inflamed or infected. Antibiotic tablets often don't fully clear this; many vets prefer to flush the sacs and put medication directly into them, repeated every 2 to 3 weeks.
Ask your vet to examine the glands rather than relying on the groomer, and to check for allergies, which often go along with recurring sacculitis. The vet will also check for a lump, which is worth ruling out in an older dog.
