Belly and Groin Rash That Isn't Improving
by Lydia

No itching or chewing but it is not improving. We can't afford a vet right now. Any ideas? Lydia
Non-itchy belly and groin rashes are often a mild bacterial or yeast infection, or contact irritation. Drops added to drinking water won't treat a skin infection.
Wash the area with a chlorhexidine shampoo or wipe made for dogs, rinse well, keep it away from the eyes and ears, and dry thoroughly. Stop if the skin looks more irritated, and see a vet if it spreads or doesn't improve within a week or two. If cost is a worry, ask your vet about a payment plan, or look for a low-cost clinic, humane society clinic or veterinary school near you.
