A Very Weak Puppy With Parvo
by Fabi
We're so sorry you and your puppy are going through this. A puppy with parvo that hasn't eaten in two days and barely moves is very sick and needs to see a vet right away, today if possible. A first parvo test can be negative early in the illness, so the diagnosis is sometimes confirmed only later.
Many puppies do survive parvo with treatment, even when they look very ill. Treatment gives fluids, anti-nausea medicine and nutrition while the puppy's body fights the virus. If a hospital stay isn't affordable, ask the vet about outpatient treatment, a payment plan, or a local shelter clinic or veterinary school, as these can cost much less.
Keep him warm and away from other dogs, and don't force food or water if he's vomiting. If he becomes cold, can't stand or his gums look pale, take him to an emergency vet immediately.
