5-Month-Old Puppy Not Eating, Lethargic and Passing Reddish Stool

Please don't put this down to teething. A puppy who isn't eating or drinking much, is lethargic, tires quickly, has red eyes and soft reddish stool needs to see a vet today. Possible causes include parasites, infections such as parvovirus or distemper if his vaccinations aren't complete, and other illness.
The shaking in his sleep may be normal dreaming, but a dazed, confused look afterward could be a seizure, so mention it. Go to an emergency vet if you can't get a same-day appointment, or right away if he vomits, has another seizure, stops drinking or seems weak.
See blood in dog stool and our page on seizures in dogs.
