The Whites of a Rottweiler's Eyes Turning Brown
by A reader
Many dogs, including Rottweilers, naturally have brown pigment on the white of the eye, and this often increases slowly with age. Flat, even patches that change slowly are usually harmless.
Have your vet take a look if the brown area is raised, grows quickly, is next to the colored part of the eye or spreads onto the clear cornea, or if the eye becomes red, cloudy or uncomfortable. Pigment spreading onto the cornea can come from long-term irritation or dry eye and needs treatment, and a raised dark spot can be a pigmented growth.
