Pus-Filled Blisters and a Deep Sore on a Nursing Dog's Belly

Pus-filled blisters and a deep hole on the belly around the teats after nursing a big litter are most likely an infection of the skin or the mammary glands (mastitis), or an abscess. Mastitis can make a dog very sick, and her being thin and hard to put weight on after 10 puppies is another reason to have her seen.
Please take her to a vet soon. She probably needs antibiotics, pain relief and wound care, and the vet will check her for other problems after the litter. Go right away if the area is hot, very swollen, dark or bluish, she has a fever, stops eating or seems weak.
Until then, keep the area clean with saline or a dilute pet antiseptic, and feed her a high-quality puppy food in several meals a day to help her regain weight. If cost is a worry, ask your vet about a payment plan, or look for a low-cost clinic, humane society clinic or veterinary school near you.
This is general information, not a diagnosis. Please follow your own vet's advice.
