Does Vinegar Repel Fleas and Ticks on Cats?
No. Apple cider vinegar doesn't kill fleas, and there's no good evidence that adding it to a cat's drinking water repels fleas or ticks. It can also upset the stomach, and cats may drink less water if it tastes different, which isn't good for them.
Please be extra careful with home remedies on cats. Cats are much more sensitive than dogs to essential oils, including tea tree oil and citrus oils, and many "natural" flea sprays contain them. Cats can also be seriously poisoned by some dog flea products, even by grooming or cuddling up to a dog that was just treated.
The safest way to protect a cat is with a flea and tick product made for cats and labeled for its weight, ideally one recommended by your vet. If you have dogs and cats together, treat every pet at the same time, each with a product made for its own species, and clean the home by vacuuming and washing bedding.
